Everyone at the Martial Hall knew that Fang Mo was going to be expelled from Iron Stone Boxing Gym.
After so much time, he had finally earned the recognition of the other students. But once this happened, their gazes toward him became somewhat distant again.
First, a gang had snatched someone off the street. Now, the Martial Arts Association was suppressing him as well. No one wanted to get too close to him, lest they be dragged into it.
Fang Mo did not go ask the hall master about it. He trained like mad, pouring all his hatred into his training.
When he came to this world, he had only wanted to quietly pursue the martial path. But why was it that there were always people who refused to let him have his way? He hated no one, so why would these people not leave him a way out?
"Why?!"
Fang Mo roared inwardly, his fist slamming into the sandbag and sending the hundred-kilogram bag swinging.
The sandbag swung back and forth, just like his life—ruthlessly kicked and beaten by others, with no control over itself!
"No. My fate is mine, not Heaven's. No one can block my path!"
Fang Mo reached out and steadied the sandbag, icy light bursting from his eyes.
That evening, after dinner, he took a medicinal bath.
Then, for the first time, Fang Mo left the Martial Hall alone without continuing his training.
Everyone in the Martial Hall found it strange. That training maniac had actually not practiced today, and he had gone out so early.
Could it be that, knowing he was about to be driven out, he no longer planned to train?
Fang Mo did not care what anyone else thought. After leaving the Martial Hall, he secretly checked and found no one tailing him. Even so, he cautiously slipped through the alleys, changed into another set of clothes, and left through a different alley.
After turning through two intersections, he hailed a taxi.
The car passed Uncle Liu's bun shop. Seeing that it was closed, Fang Mo felt puzzled.
Uncle Liu's business was so good—why was the shop closed? Had something happened?
But he did not dwell on it. After the taxi had gone several miles, he transferred to another one before heading straight for his destination: Iron Stone Boxing Gym.
Iron Stone Boxing Gym was located on the second basement level of Confluence River Building.
Standing before the building, he could see the sign upstairs flashing with blue light.
A boxing gym was different from a Martial Hall.
A Martial Hall primarily taught people martial arts, while a boxing gym was mainly for training. Many martial artists came here for sparring practice to improve their real-combat skills. Iron Stone Boxing Gym was different still. It not only offered regular sparring training, but also underground matches and gambling bouts.
Fang Mo steadied himself, entered the building, and took the elevator down to the second basement level.
If he wanted to improve quickly, he could no longer stick to the rules. He needed a path that would raise his combat strength faster. He had originally intended to wait before coming here, but now he could wait no longer.
The elevator doors opened, revealing the name Iron Stone Boxing Gym ahead. Glass doors blocked the way, with two burly men standing in front of them.
The men looked Fang Mo up and down, their brows creasing slightly. "Are you here to practice boxing?"
Fang Mo stepped forward. "A friend referred me. I want to take part in ring matches!"
"You... want to fight in the ring?"
The two stared at Fang Mo in surprise, suspicion in their eyes. One of them said impatiently, "Go on, get lost. This is a boxing gym. If you want to play around, go somewhere else."
Although Fang Mo had been practicing boxing for nearly two months and had grown sturdier, he still looked thin compared to many others.
"If this weren't a boxing gym, I wouldn't have come."
Fang Mo said calmly.
The two men were briefly taken aback. One of them said coldly, "If you're looking to die, no one can stop you!"
"Come with me!"
As he spoke, he swiped open the access door. Fang Mo followed him into the boxing gym.
Before him lay a massive space with five boxing rings, each around ten meters wide. People were sparring atop every one of them.
Fang Mo took a look. They were all ordinary martial artists, not a single one having reached Bright Force, and none of them were very old.
Their opponents were sparring partners hired by the boxing gym, usually there just to take hits, wearing protective gear as they fought.
The reason Fang Mo had not chosen to become a sparring partner was that this level of sparring was too low. Most of the time, it was like accompanying some young master while he studied—he could not fight back too hard, and it would do nothing for his progress. He might as well spar with his senior brothers and fellow disciples in the Martial Hall.
The burly man led Fang Mo to an office farther inside. Sitting in the office was a beautiful woman around twenty-seven or twenty-eight.
If you think this book is good, remember to add it to your bookshelf so you don't lose it next time.
"Manager Xu, this guy wants to fight in the ring!"
The burly man looked at the woman respectfully.
The woman raised her head, her gaze falling on Fang Mo as she looked him over.
Fang Mo was also observing the woman before him. She had a slender, striking figure and wore a white shirt. Her chest was not particularly prominent. She had an oval face, a pointed chin, delicate features, and wine-red hair cascading over her shoulders. Diamond studs glittered beneath the lights on her exposed pale earlobes. Her entire bearing was sharp and capable.
The woman stood up. She was a full head taller than Fang Mo, at least 1.75 meters tall.
Unlike the burly men, she did not judge by appearances. Smiling faintly, she extended her hand and said:
"Xu Manli, manager of Iron Stone Boxing Gym. How should I address you, young master?"
"Fang Mo. Mo as in ink and painting."
Fang Mo reached out and shook her hand. Her jade-like hand was soft and boneless, and a thought rose in his heart. So soft. This is a woman with a special physique.
"Good name! Very poetic!"
Xu Manli smiled faintly and withdrew her hand, signaling for the burly man to leave. Then she gestured invitingly. "Please, have a seat, Young Master Fang!"
Fang Mo sat down. Xu Manli poured him a glass of water and set it before him before gracefully taking her own seat. "Mr. Fang, forgive my presumption, but what realm are you in?"
"The Strength Training Realm. I haven't entered Bright Force yet," Fang Mo said directly.
Xu Manli smiled slightly. "Then does Young Master Fang know the rules of the underground boxing gym? The matches are extremely dangerous. Once you step into the ring, we cannot guarantee your safety. Injuries and disabilities are possible—death is even possible!"
"I know," Fang Mo said calmly.
Xu Manli looked at Fang Mo. Her clear spring-like eyes seemed intent on seeing straight through him. After more than ten seconds, she rose to her feet.
"Alright. Since Young Master Fang understands, come with me!"
Fang Mo stood as well and followed Xu Manli out of the room into the room next door. Testing equipment filled the space. When Xu Manli entered, a burly man inside stood up.
"Test him," Xu Manli told the man, then looked toward Fang Mo.
"Young Master Fang, we need to test your strength now. If you meet the requirements, we can arrange a match for you. If you don't, then we can't make any arrangements!"
"Alright!"
Fang Mo nodded and stepped forward. The burly man had already switched on the machine. Fang Mo stood before the strength tester, planted his feet, assumed a tiger stance, and focused his mind.
Xu Manli watched quietly. She did not think highly of Fang Mo either. From his build alone, he did not look like someone who practiced martial arts at all.
Suddenly, Fang Mo's eyes flew wide open. His body moved in an instant, and he threw a punch that slammed heavily into the target.
A dull thud rang out as the numbers on the machine rapidly climbed.
A beep sounded, and the numbers stopped.
"240 kilograms!"
Surprise appeared on Xu Manli's face. Her gaze swept over Fang Mo's body. She could not believe that such a thin, weak-looking frame could unleash such terrifying strength. It was not particularly outstanding, but she had expected him to manage at most 150 or 160 kilograms.
This was far beyond her expectations.
"Manager Xu, does this result meet the standard?" Fang Mo asked, looking at Xu Manli. He had secretly tested himself at the Martial Hall before and knew his current strength. At his best, he could actually punch out 280 kilograms.
On Earth in his previous life, even Tyson, the greatest of them all, could only throw a 260-kilogram punch. Yet Fang Mo had already surpassed Tyson before even reaching Bright Force. Once he reached Bright Force, any casual strike of his would weigh several hundred kilograms.
Guan Lu had kicked a car weighing over a ton more than a meter away. Her strength had to be in the thousands of kilograms.
That was what made the martial artists of this world so terrifying.
"Yes, it does. You pass completely!" Xu Manli immediately said with a smile.
"Young Master Fang, please come with me to register!"
Xu Manli was clearly much warmer than before. Looking at Fang Mo's results, an initial idea had already formed in her mind.
Fang Mo's build could completely create an information gap. If his combat ability was up to par, he could become a major draw for the boxing gym and bring it greater profits.
