Over the next few days, Yanda's Math Camp settled into its regular training routine, with Sun Erxiong in charge of teaching.
The lessons covered calculus, Spatial Analytic Geometry, Linear Algebra, Infinite Series, Ordinary Differential Equations, and more. In essence, they were simply getting an early introduction to Advanced Mathematics.
Advanced Mathematics was a broad, catch-all course. It brought together calculus, Spatial Analytic Geometry, Linear Algebra, Infinite Series, Ordinary Differential Equations, and many other branches, each of which could fill a book on its own.
Even though the course was broad, there was no way Sun Erxiong could teach both volumes of Advanced Mathematics in detail in just a few days. He focused mainly on the essentials and offered guidance on how to proceed.
Before the twenty-six students entered camp, most had studied mathematics beyond the high school curriculum, either on their own or under the guidance of teachers from their respective Math Olympiad teams.
Sun Erxiong was very capable. Shen Qi had already taught himself Advanced Mathematics, but still listened with keen interest.
Shen Qi liked Sun Erxiong's highly condensed, rapid-fire teaching style. If someone took a whole year to teach both volumes of Advanced Mathematics, Shen Qi really wouldn't have the patience to listen.
Before they knew it, a week had passed, and it was already early November.
The Math Camp held an exam. Each student took a paper worth 200 points, covering 10% high school mathematics, 70% Advanced Mathematics, and 20% material beyond Advanced Mathematics.
Once the papers had been marked, Sun Erxiong took a look at the results. "Shen Qi, 200 points. Flawless. And the runner-up is Zhou Yu'an, with 188."
"Zhou Yu'an was on the Olympic Math national team. He's Shen Qi's teammate and an IMO gold medalist." Assistant Qian Fang carried a small notebook everywhere.
