Afterword

This time, the story really is finished.

I gave it an ending where the family had both a son and a daughter. It wasn't perfect, but at least things turned out well in some respects.

Maybe my abilities were limited. As I got further into the story, I couldn't keep up with the academic content, and what I wrote felt forced and awkward.

So, I'll leave it here.

A lot of readers added me on QQ and asked about my education, what I studied, and which university I graduated from.

I didn't dare answer before. After all, I only had an undergraduate degree, and writing a Scholar Story like this honestly made me nervous as hell.

But now that the story's finished, I'll answer everyone at once.

I graduated from Wuhan University of Technology, where I studied Materials Chemistry and earned a Bachelor of Engineering Degree.

My field involved using chemistry to study inorganic nonmetallic materials, mainly cement, glass, ceramics, and the like.

Of the four notorious fields—biology, chemistry, materials, and environmental science—my major covered two.

After graduating, I didn't work in the water, glass, and ceramics industry either. I managed to get out of that trap.

As an engineering graduate with no background in mathematics, writing about mathematical Millennium Prize Problems like the Riemann Hypothesis and the Hodge conjecture really made me nervous.

I looked up a lot of information and sat in on math and physics classes at Sun Yat-sen University and South China University of Technology. I used my imagination: if I could prove something, I did; if I couldn't, I made things up.

So please don't take it too seriously. I'm a novelist, after all, not a mathematician or physicist.

If there are any technical errors in this book, I hope you'll just laugh them off.
