"Do you know where she went?" Li Xiuwen pressed.
The teahouse owner shook his head. "That, I don't know. She left in a hurry and seemed to be headed east."
Lin Taichu and Li Xiuwen thanked the teahouse owner, then immediately got up and pursued her eastward.
They searched all the way east of the town and finally discovered some traces in a valley. Someone had clearly passed through here, and judging by how fresh the traces were, it had not been long.
"Looks like we chose the right direction," Lin Taichu said gravely.
"Indeed. Let's keep chasing," Li Xiuwen said with a nod.
The two quickened their pace and followed the traces deeper into the valley. Before long, they found a concealed cave, its entrance hidden behind vines. It would have been difficult to spot without looking carefully.
"She's in there," Lin Taichu said with certainty.
"We need to be careful. Chen Fei'er is crafty; don't fall into her trap," Li Xiuwen warned.
The two cautiously approached the cave and slipped inside without a sound. It was dark and damp within, with a faint medicinal fragrance drifting through the air.
They proceeded deeper into the cave and finally found Chen Fei'er at its depths. She was seated cross-legged on the ground, with medicinal herbs and a pill furnace arranged before her. She was clearly refining medicine to treat her injuries.
Chen Fei'er seemed to have sensed Lin Taichu and Li Xiuwen's arrival as well. She slowly opened her eyes, a vicious glint flashing through them.
"Lin Taichu, Li Xiuwen, you Yin Souls really won't leave me alone!" Chen Fei'er said coldly.
"Chen Fei'er, your evil deeds have roused public outrage. Today will be your end," Lin Taichu said in a deep voice.
