After walking for about half an hour, Lin Taichu and Martial Mother arrived at a secluded valley. Mountains surrounded it on all sides, with only a narrow mountain path leading in. It was a good place to hide.
"We'll lie low here for now," Lin Taichu said.
Martial Mother looked around and nodded. "It really is well hidden here. We should be able to avoid the pursuers for the time being."
The two found a dry cave in the valley and settled down temporarily. Lin Taichu lit a bonfire, its flickering light driving away the surrounding darkness and cold.
"Taichu, how are your injuries?" His master's wife asked with concern.
Lin Taichu moved his injured shoulder and calf. "The pill Martial Mother gave me worked very well. My injuries are already much better. After resting for a few days, I should recover most of my strength."
Martial Mother breathed a sigh of relief. "That's good. Rest first. I'll go find some food."
Lin Taichu wanted to stop her, but when he saw the determination in Martial Mother's eyes, he said nothing more. He knew that although Martial Mother was not a martial artist, she was highly capable of surviving in the wild and would not easily encounter danger.
After Martial Mother left, Lin Taichu leaned against the cave wall and began considering what to do next. He knew the Li Family would not let him off so easily. He had to recover his strength as soon as possible.
However, just then, he suddenly heard footsteps outside. His heart tightened. Had the Li Family's pursuers found them so quickly?
He clenched his fists, ready for battle. Yet when he saw who entered the cave, he froze.
