Before he could approach the mountain, however, a sharp, piercing cry suddenly rang out beside his ears. Then countless black dots abruptly appeared before his eyes. Looking closely, he saw that they were small birds. Each was as large as an adult man's fist, with sleek bodies covered in black feathers. Only their two wings glimmered with faint red light, making them especially conspicuous.
The birds' cries were incredibly shrill, filled with terrifying pressure and murderous aura. The winds and clouds in every direction churned under their intimidation, and even space itself seemed unable to withstand the dreadful pressure they emitted, twisting and shattering amid earth-shaking booms.
