Sun Yong shook his head. "No. But I heard that whenever Jin Kingdom envoys came, they stayed in a secret room in the prime minister's residence and only came out at night to meet."
"A secret room?" Lin Taichu's eyes lit up. "Do you know where it is?"
"Not the exact location, but it should be behind the study. The last time I delivered a deployment map, I heard movement inside the study, like the sound of a secret gate opening and closing."
Lin Taichu pondered for a moment. "Looks like we'll have to find a way into the prime minister's residence."
Sun Yong was startled. "General, that's too dangerous! The prime minister's residence is heavily guarded, with spies everywhere. Once we get in, it'll be hard to get out."
"I know it's dangerous," Lin Taichu said. "But only by finding the letters between the prime minister and the Jin Kingdom, or other evidence, can we bring him down completely."
He came up with an idea. "In a few days, it'll be the fifteenth. There'll be a banquet in the palace. The prime minister will definitely attend, and the guards at his residence will be more lax then. We can sneak in while he's gone."
Sun Yong was still worried. "Even if we get in, we might not find the secret room. What if we're discovered..."
"There are no what-ifs." Lin Taichu cut him off. "This is the only way. Are you familiar with the layout of the prime minister's residence?"
Sun Yong thought for a moment. "I've been there twice, both times to hand things over in the rear courtyard. I'm not familiar with the front courtyard. But I remember the study seemed to be in the middle courtyard, with quite a few Guards around it."
Lin Taichu nodded.
