As he entered the beast arena, the host was already waiting on the platform. Seeing Lin Taichu, he smiled and nodded at him.

By the arena's rules, opponents were generally arranged from weakest to strongest. Kam's spear excelled at mid-range attacks, so he should have been the first opponent. Lin Taichu would need to find a way to close the distance.
