When the young man saw Lin Taichu, he froze for a moment before hurrying over. "Sir, are you Doctor Lin? I'm an apprentice from the small clinic in the capital. The Old Doctor told me to come find you. He said you might be in danger."
Lin Taichu recognized him as the Old Doctor's apprentice, Amu. He let out a breath of relief. "Amu, why are you here? How is the Old Doctor?"
"The Old Doctor is fine. He saw the City Lord leaving the city with a large group of people and felt something was wrong, so he told me to follow and take a look."
"Sir, you're injured. Come with me quickly. I know a safe place—a cave the Old Doctor discovered while gathering herbs years ago. It's very well hidden," Amu said.
Lin Taichu nodded. "My apprentice is still in the cave in Black Wind Valley. I need to find him first."
"I know that cave. I'll go with you." Amu took several flatbreads and a waterskin from his basket.
"Sir, eat something first and regain some strength."
Lin Taichu took the bread and water and wolfed them down. He really was starving, and with all the blood he had lost, he would not be able to hold on much longer without food.
After eating, he felt some of his strength return and followed Amu toward the cave in Black Wind Valley.
After walking for about two hours, they finally returned to the cave entrance. Amu lowered his voice. "Sir, I'll go in and find Big Brother Wang. Wait here. If anything happens, call for me."
Lin Taichu nodded. Amu entered the cave, and before long, he came out supporting Wang Xiaohu. Wang Xiaohu's face was still pale, but he was able to walk now.
"Senior Brother!"
