Just as the Soul Power blade was about to pierce the center of the Dark Vortex, the vortex suddenly exploded. Dense Darkness Power spread in every direction, and countless pitch-black fragments flew through the air.
Lin Taichu was struck by the shockwave and sent flying backward. He slammed heavily into an invisible barrier, spat out a mouthful of blood, and felt the Soul Power within him instantly fall into turmoil.
He struggled to his feet, wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth, and fixed his gaze on where the Dark Vortex had exploded.
As the Darkness Power gradually dispersed, a vague black figure appeared where it had been. It floated in the void, shrouded in dense Darkness Power. Its features could not be seen clearly, but the suffocating pressure it gave off was even more violent than before.
Lin Taichu knew that this was the person behind the Mutated Beasts. He slowly straightened up, circulated his Soul Power to stabilize the chaotic energy within him, and condensed another Soul Power blade at his fingertips as he warily watched the black figure.
Although he had expended a tremendous amount of Soul Power and his meridians were damaged, he did not retreat in the slightest. To eliminate the threat of the Mutated Beasts for good, he had to kill the person before him.
The black figure slowly raised its head and let out a hoarse roar. The sound carried no emotion, yet it contained a strange power that entered Lin Taichu's ears, making his eardrums ache and causing his Soul Power to stir once more.
Lin Taichu immediately circulated his Soul Power to seal off his hearing and resist the strange force. At the same time, he flashed forward and charged at the black figure, thrusting the Soul Power blade
