He turned and was just about to shut the stone door when he suddenly sensed something. His gaze swept toward the shadows where Lin Taichu was hiding.
"Who's there? Come out."
Lin Taichu did not hide. He stepped out of the shadows and looked at Tiandaozi.
Tiandaozi sized Lin Taichu up, a trace of doubt flashing through his eyes. "Who are you? Why are you here?"
"Lin Taichu," Lin Taichu said. "I came to find you."
"Find me? Whose disciple are you? Why have you trespassed into Heavenly Dao Hall?"
Lin Taichu did not answer. He only looked at Tiandaozi as the Soul Power within him slowly began to circulate.
Tiandaozi sensed Lin Taichu's hostility. The smile on his face vanished, replaced by a trace of coldness.
"You mean to harm me?"
"The insects you brought back to Chaotian Gate are not gifts from the heavens. They are Gu Worms. They will corrode a cultivator's Soul Power, suck away a cultivator's cultivation, and in the end turn a cultivator into a puppet."
Tiandaozi froze, then gave a cold laugh. "Utter nonsense. Those insects only eat the roots and stalks of spiritual herbs, then excrete waste to nourish the soil. I've studied them for three years and have never found that they corrode Cultivators."
"That is because you have not given them enough time. Once the Gu Worms multiply to a sufficient number, they will begin corroding Cultivators. What you see now is only the surface."
Tiandaozi shook his head. "What would a cultivator who just joined Chaotian Gate know? I've studied them for three years. Could I really know less than you?"
Lin Taichu knew that words alone could not persuade Tiandaozi. He had to produce evidence.
"Come with me." Lin Taichu turned and walked out of the hall.
