The sight of a figure in red drifting down on the wind had a beauty all its own.
But to the civilians and Action Department personnel at the scene, it looked like a death warrant. Many people froze stiff where they stood.
"Run!"
"Don't just stand there!"
At last, some people came to their senses and tried to flee. But before they could even turn around, their eyes grew vacant, as if nothing around them mattered anymore.
The Red-clothed Female Ghost descended, her face impossible to make out. Her dainty red embroidered shoes seemed not to touch the ground.
A voice rang out from her blurred face, its tone shifting between anger and resentment. "Come, come, come..."
As she called, the nearby residents with vacant eyes grew more and more dazed.
They walked unconsciously toward the Red-clothed Female Ghost, looking almost as if they were crowding around her.
If not for how terrifying she looked, the scene might even have seemed peaceful and serene.
Bang!
A gunshot shattered the silence of the night.
Captain Mao gritted his teeth and pulled the trigger again.
He knew full well that this kind of attack couldn't affect the Red-clothed Female Ghost at all, but he simply couldn't stand being in a position where he was nothing more than a lamb waiting to be slaughtered.
The other Action Department members had probably been roused by Captain Mao's example. If they couldn't escape, then they might as well tear a piece of flesh off the supernatural entity before they went down.
With that in mind, the Action Department personnel at the scene began firing one after another, turning the place into a battlefield. Even Li Hanbin drew his sidearm and joined in.
The other civilians who hadn't yet been affected by the Red-clothed Female Ghost
