The abilities gained in each round of the Ability Pool might fail to work as intended for one reason or another.
That wasn't uncommon.
But having an ability inexplicably stripped away was absolutely unprecedented.
Faced with this, the suited man known as the Yuppie could hardly contain his shock, despite having already gone through several rounds of Deathmatch Showdown.
He instinctively wanted to go over and ask the other deathmatchers.
Had the abilities of every deathmatcher present failed, or was it only him and his companion?
Those two answers meant entirely different things.
He and the girl wearing a bow-shaped hair clip hurriedly pushed through the crowd and ran to a white-collar worker with the title "Swift Minion" floating above his head.
The deathmatchers were mingled among the crowd. On the surface, they looked just as anxious as ordinary citizens, but in reality, they were secretly keeping an eye on what was happening around them.
Noticing two deathmatchers approaching, Swift Minion immediately tensed up, ready to act at any moment.
"Friend, don't be nervous. We mean no harm."
After briefly putting him at ease, the Yuppie got straight to the point. "Can you still use your ability normally?"
"What do you mean by that?"
Swift Minion didn't relax.
But after hearing the Yuppie's question, he couldn't help glancing at his system interface.
When he saw the information on his personal interface, his expression shifted despite himself. He knew he shouldn't show weakness in front of unfamiliar deathmatchers, but he couldn't control his reaction.
The change in Swift Minion's expression was so obvious that the Yuppie knew the answer without needing to ask.
"I knew it."
The Yuppie didn't hide his grim mood. His voice solemn, he said, "Looks like some strange ability has stripped all of us of our abilities."
