This isn't my first time reaching the point where a book goes on sale, but I can't remember how I felt last time.
I hate the hassle of submitting manuscripts, so I've always just posted directly.
When my editor picked up this book, they told me it looked like it was going to flop.
Honestly, I didn't feel much of anything. I wasn't about to curl my lips into a Nike logo and shout, "Thirty years east of the river, thirty years west!"
Readers who've read The Immortal Who Travels Through Ten Thousand Worlds probably know I'm a chronic slacker. I like to say things like, "Writing four thousand words a day is the limit of human endurance"...
I wasn't discouraged, and I didn't feel any need to prove myself. I figured, if it flopped, so be it. I'd just write it for fun.
That's what I told them, too.
I figured that no matter how poorly it did, I'd finish telling this story.
So far, I haven't asked for monthly tickets, tips, follows, recommendation tickets, or anything like that. Though maybe that's because I don't think asking would do much good.
Anyway, I'm getting off track.
Back to what I was saying: I've read all your comments carefully. As long as they weren't just insults, I didn't delete them, even when they were negative.
After all, this book wouldn't have made it this far without your support. I'm incredibly grateful!
