"Second Young Master, stop wasting your breath on him. This is Blazing Blade Sect territory!"
It was Zhao Ping'an's first time in a fight, and he had wanted to say a few more things. But the old man at Third Level Innate Realm had already thrown in the towel and urged his master to attack at once, lest things drag on and complications arise.
"You four, get him! I want him spending the rest of his life in bed!"
That young master really was obedient. He stopped talking and immediately ordered his four subordinates to attack.
"Some people just don't know how to behave..."
With a CLANG, Zhao Ping'an drew the Great Saber in his hand. He had practiced for so long but had never tried out his saber techniques. This was the perfect chance to see how well they worked.
Of course, he only planned to use the First-rate Martial Art Blade Qi Across, which he had already practiced to perfection.
Never mind the Great Grandmaster-level (Yellow-grade) martial art God Slaying Saber Strike, which he had already mastered. These people weren't even worthy of seeing his Grandmaster-level (Human-grade) Eight Heavenly Gang Styles.
It was worth mentioning that the techniques and martial arts deduced by the Game Panel were all the best of their respective levels. They might not make him invincible among his peers, but they came pretty close.
The four Martial Artists exchanged mocking glances as they watched Zhao Ping'an draw his long saber.
Before coming here, they had already gotten the full story about him. A young Martial Warrior not even twenty years old dared to draw a weapon in front of them?
"I'll play with him first..."
A Martial Artist carrying a long staff stepped forward and swung it at Zhao Ping'an's wrist. Judging by the force behind it, if the blow landed, it would at least cause a compound fracture—and leave him crippled for life.
"Blade Qi Across—SLASH!"
Zhao Ping'an's gaze turned cold as he raised his saber and swung.
Blade Qi Across focused on overpowering the enemy with strength, using offense as defense, and sweeping across the eight directions!
Though he hadn't used any Qi, his immense strength combined with the heavy Great Saber was more than enough to make even an Innate Martial Master unable to withstand a single blow.
CLANG!
CRACK!
"AAAH!!! My hand! My hand!!!"
Amid the clash of metal, the Martial Artist's refined-iron staff was cleaved in two. His right hand and half his arm fell to the ground along with it.
Blood sprayed high into the air. Luckily, Zhao Ping'an dodged quickly, or his new clothes would have been stained.
But Zhao Ping'an's expression was far from good. This was his first time cutting someone, and the sight of blood pouring everywhere made him feel sick. His face went deathly pale.
"Zhang Zhen!"
"You little bastard, you're dead!!!"
The four men were clearly close. Two immediately rushed to stop the bleeding and bandage Zhang Zhen, while the other, who also wielded a saber, charged at Zhao Ping'an and swung for his neck.
He had completely forgotten that they were only supposed to injure Zhao Ping'an, not kill him. Seeing his companion suddenly gravely wounded had sent him into a rage.
At the same time, Zhao Ping'an's pallid face gave them the wrong idea. They thought he must have used some sort of forbidden technique to achieve such a result.
Though Zhao Ping'an felt sick, it didn't affect the strength or speed of his saber arm.
CLANG!
SPLURT!
With another crisp clash of metal, the Martial Artist charging with his saber had it knocked from his hands. Zhao Ping'an followed up by slashing him across the chest.
THUD...
A heavy body hit the ground. The unnamed Martial Artist lay there as blood and intestines spilled across the floor. Blood frothed from his mouth, and he was clearly breathing his last.
"Wang Mang! This kid's strange. Attack together!"
If it had happened once, it could have been luck. But twice? That was something else.
Seeing their companions in such a terrible state, the two remaining Martial Artists turned pale. They abandoned their attempt to bandage Zhang Zhen's wound, raised their weapons, and attacked Zhao Ping'an, whose expression had grown even darker.
"Old Liu, what's going on with this kid? He's just a Martial Warrior, yet he took down two high-ranking guards with only two swings?"
Watching Zhao Ping'an casually cut down two skilled Houtian Martial Artists at the seventh or eighth level, the Second Young Master of the Sun Family asked the old man beside him in shock.
"This... I don't understand either. Judging by his pale face, it looks as though he used some forbidden technique that consumes Qi and Blood. But what kind of forbidden technique could have such power? What?!"
As Old Liu, a man at Third Level Innate Realm, answered, Zhao Ping'an felled the two remaining men with two more swings. Both had been slashed across the chest, and with the medical care available in this ancient world, they probably wouldn't survive.
Then Zhao Ping'an strode forward, his expression dark, charging toward the old man and young man standing nearby.
"You're asking for death!!!"
Old Liu immediately drew a gleaming Soft Sword from his waist. Three inches of Sword Qi extended from its tip as he thrust it straight at Zhao Ping'an's face.
"You're the one who's asking for death! Blade Qi Across! Conquer the Eight Directions!"
Now that he had recovered, Zhao Ping'an's long saber suddenly blurred into a continuous streak. Beneath Old Liu's widening eyes, he unleashed a curtain of saber light that swept across the old man's body.
"Such... exquisite saber techniques..."
CLATTER!
As the long sword fell from Old Liu's hand, fountains of blood burst from his body, drenching the Second Young Master of the Sun Family beside him.
Sun Shize stared blankly at Old Liu's fallen body and the high-ranking guards he'd brought with him. For a moment, his mind went completely blank.
Only one thought echoed in his mind: This isn't real. It's all fake. Fake! Fake!!!
After dodging the spray of blood, Zhao Ping'an walked toward the only one still standing—the Second Young Master of the Sun Family.
"Don't come any closer! I'm Sun Shize, the Second Young Master of the Sun Family's direct line! If you dare lay a finger on me, I'll make you wish you were dead! Wish you were dead!"
Sun Shize immediately drew his long saber and shouted in terror.
"Since you didn't plan to kill me at the start, I won't kill you either!"
"Really?"
"But though you can escape death, you'll still pay for what you've done!"
Zhao Ping'an swung his saber straight at Sun Shize's legs.
Sun Shize raised his saber to block by reflex, but against the gulf in their strength, it was futile.
CLANG!
Sun Shize's long saber caught between Zhao Ping'an's Great Saber and its edge, then was dragged across his foot.
"AAAH!!! My foot! My foot!!!"
"What a sharp saber!"
Zhao Ping'an looked at the huge notch in his fifty-tael Great Saber and murmured softly.
The culprit was Sun Shize's long saber, which looked just like the Brocade Spring Saber from his previous life.
There was another, smaller notch in his Great Saber, cut by Old Liu's Soft Sword.
"It's got some heft! I'll take these two weapons as compensation for my distress."
Zhao Ping'an pulled Sun Shize's long saber out of his Great Saber, then picked up the Soft Sword and its scabbard from the ground. He turned and hurried toward Zhao Residence.
First, he couldn't explain the weapons on him to his senior brothers and sisters. Second, although he had dodged quickly, without using Qi to protect himself, some blood had inevitably splashed onto his clothes. He needed to go back and change.
As for Sun Shize, the guard who had only lost a hand would take him back.
