Dao Lord of Life and Death: Once a cultivator reached the peak of the World Realm, their understanding of the Dao had reached its limit. They then had to find their own path and create their own Dao from nothing. Once they found that path and brought their body and soul to absolute perfection, they could break through and become a Dao Lord.
Dao Lords were also known as Dao Lords of Life and Death. They walked the edge of life and death; every step could mean either.
With each step forward, they created a deeper level of Dao.
At their peak, they could attempt Dao Fusion and bring their Dao to true perfection. But if the Dao they had created was flawed, trying to grow stronger through it would cause their divine power and True Spirit to collapse. Death and oblivion would be the only outcome.
The path a Dao Lord of Life and Death chose determined how difficult it would be to become an Eternal Emperor.
Those who chose an easy path would be weaker than others at the same level, but achieving eternity would also be easier for them.
Those who chose a difficult path would become extraordinarily powerful. At the fourth step, such a Dao Lord could even kill an ordinary Eternal Emperor.
But succeeding at Dao Fusion and attaining eternity on that difficult path would be harder as well.
In general, someone who comprehended two supreme Daos and fused them could reach the level of a Dominator. Yet only one in every hundred thousand Dao Lords became an Eternal Emperor on average, and that figure included those who cultivated ordinary or somewhat stronger Daos. The difficulty was easy to imagine.
