Kunpeng did not dare act presumptuously before a Sage.
He immediately calmed himself, merely shooting Daoist Hongyun beside him a resentful glare before finding a meditation cushion nearby and sitting down.
Hongjun held a bowl in one hand and a dragon-headed staff in the other. Nodding, he said, "From this day forth, the seats may not be changed at will.
"This time, the Dao altar will hold three sessions. Each session will last three thousand years, followed by three thousand years of cultivation. I hope you will all seize this opportunity well!" With that, he began his lecture.
"Chaos gave birth to the Dao; when Heaven and Earth first opened, the Dao was born. There is a thing by which the Dao may be understood."
"The Dao that I know moves in cycles and never tires; it may be called the mother of Heaven and Earth."
"The Dao is nameless, yet there is nothing it does not illuminate. Call it great, and it may be said to pass away; call it passing away, and it may be said to become distant; call it distant, and it may be said to return to greatness. Thus, Heaven is great, Earth is great, and the Dao is great."
"There are four great things within the domain, and all things dwell among them. Spirits follow Earth, Earth follows Heaven, Heaven follows the Dao, and the Dao follows nature."
A Sage's lecture was indeed extraordinary. Purple qi stretched for ten thousand miles. Above Dao Ancestor Hongjun's head appeared hundreds of millions of acres of auspicious clouds, releasing immeasurable radiance that illuminated the countless three-thousand worlds of the heavens. From the nine-colored auspicious clouds above him descended endless clouds of blessed light, transforming into lotus flowers, innate five beasts, lingzhi, auspicious herbs, and more.
