11.13, Leaving the Primordial Universe
Lin Mu asked himself whether he was really strong enough to attract such a powerful expert as a master. Was there some hidden reason?
"There are three reasons I accepted you as my disciple. First, your strength is passable enough—barely enough to qualify."
"Second, you happened to run into me."
"Third, I like your personality. You are uninhibited and carefree, laughing and cursing as your heart dictates."
The Sky Eclipse Palace Lord smiled.
"Huh?"
Lin Mu was speechless. None of that sounded like praise. What did he mean, uninhibited and carefree? He was simply kind-hearted, sincere, and longing for freedom.
And laughing and cursing? He did not seem to have cursed anyone. Even if he had, it was only because they had done something wrong.
"Over countless years, I have accepted only twenty-five disciples. Including you, there are now twenty-six. Three have fallen, while the rest are all Immortal experts. Among them are three Kings and fifteen Marquis Peaks."
"I do not accept disciples unless they are peerless geniuses. I do not accept them if they do not suit my temperament, if they displease me, or if they are too old."
"The first goal I give you is this: become a powerful Immortal, and become a King!"
The Sky Eclipse Palace Lord spoke calmly.
Lin Mu relaxed inwardly. This goal was not impossibly difficult. If he worked hard enough, he could still achieve it.
"This disciple will certainly live up to Teacher's expectations. I will cultivate diligently every day and never slack off. Once I become famous, I will honor Teacher as well, so everyone will know how discerning Teacher is..."
Lin Mu muttered on and on, until even the Sky Eclipse Palace Lord frowned slightly. *Was I too hasty in taking this disciple?
