A series of noisy croaks, accompanied by the faint rustling of branches, came from behind him.
Then came a shrill crack like a whip snapping through the air.
The shadow of a massive branch swept toward Jun Rushi from behind, shrouding him.
It was as though that sinister giant tree had caught up to him and intended to whip him to death with its branches.
Jun Rushi shook his head slightly and thought, Both of those giant beasts are immensely powerful. Once they meet, they will surely fight each other. How could they possibly have the leisure to attack me?
With that thought, Jun Rushi paid it no further heed.
His speed increased once more as he hurried toward the end of the No-Return Road.
Sure enough, the massive branch lashed at him vanished the instant it touched his body.
The dazzling, sinister radiance and the chaotic croaking also dissipated completely.
Suddenly, the mist before him vanished without a trace, and Jun Rushi reached the end of the bridge.
He stepped calmly off the bridge.
Then a huge vortex appeared before him.
Jun Rushi shifted his feet slightly and stepped into the vortex.
In the blink of an eye, he vanished into it.
When Jun Rushi emerged from the vortex, a towering mountain that pierced the clouds stood before him.
Clouds and mist coiled around the mountain, and its end was impossible to see.
Standing at its foot, a person seemed as tiny as an ant.
"This should be Forbidden Mountain!"
The restriction runes in Jun Rushi's eyes flickered faintly. As he looked at Forbidden Mountain before him, a grave expression appeared on his face.
Jun
