Boom—
The solid wooden gate shattered with a crash, and an ugly head as large as a washbasin rammed through the doorway.
"Oh, I broke through the gate!"
The ugly giant grinned happily, pulled his head back through his arms, and pulled out the gate's bolt.
At once, the iron-bound gate, weighing over a hundred pounds, crashed open to either side.
Led by the ugly giant, three towering giants with their claws bared charged into the underground passage.
"Here they come."
Rhaegar calmly twirled his sword.
"Anyone who gets in my way is getting nailed to the ground."
The ugly giant met those composed violet eyes and angrily swung his spiked club as he charged.
These single-minded fools took even the simplest glance as a provocation.
Rhaegar grinned, revealing a bone-chilling smile.
A provocation, then.
This was his first time seeing giants, and he doubted they were any stronger than the Children of the Forest, who knew magic.
"I'll smash your head!"
The ugly giant lumbered forward and swung his club down with one hand.
Thud!
Rhaegar had anticipated the attack. He rolled to the side and slipped beneath the giant's feet.
Before the ugly giant could react, he gripped his sword in both hands and stabbed through the leather boot covering the giant's lower leg.
Clang!
Blackfyre's dark blade pierced flesh and caught against the giant's hard shinbone.
"Ah! I'll kill you!"
The ugly giant roared in pain, raised his leg to kick the human who barely reached his knee, and reached out with his free left hand to grab him.
The moment the blade stopped, Rhaegar's eyes suddenly sharpened.
As the giant raised his leg, Rhaegar pulled his sword free and rolled backward.
When the giant's calloused hand reached for him, he dodged sideways and slashed.
