Power Progression
The Martial Path's classical sequence has nine realms, from Qi and Blood through Heaven and Earth. Human Immortal is the first realm beyond them 156. The chapters below document Shen Fan's progress, not a change in the path itself.

Shen Fan's later panel also records Broken Realm, First Layer, then Ninth Layer, and subsequently Cosmic level Eighth Layer and True Realm cultivation 431 451 467 618. These later labels are not placed within the nine-realm sequence given in Chapter 156.
Cultivation System
- Qi and Blood is the foundation. Martial training generates Qi and Blood, which nourishes and strengthens the body. Its five levels are Skin Refining, Muscle Refining, Bone Forging, Blood Coagulation, and Viscera Refining 1 3.
- Innate cultivation changes the source of power. Practitioners unblock their meridians, draw in spiritual energy, and form Innate True Essence. The realm has nine layers 36.
- Divine Abilities arise from the practitioner. At the Divine Ability Realm, the soul's transformation and its union with the body produce a Divine Ability Seed. Divine Ability Realm cultivation methods can lead to the awakening of corresponding abilities 113 125.
- Later realms develop internal power further. Dharma Aspect practitioners refine Law Power; Void Glimpse practitioners derive a Small World; Heaven and Earth practitioners develop that world's laws. A complete inner world capable of sustaining life marks the breakthrough to Human Immortal 156 319.
History
The Martial Path was the mainstream cultivation path of a previous epoch. The True Martial Civilization brought it to prominence, but was destroyed by other forces; its leading practitioners and top inheritances disappeared, and surviving martial cultivators were suppressed 156 297 467 494. Even after its decline, Martial Path legacies remained, including those preserved by the Martial Way Tree and those guarded in the Thousand Martial Hall 297 920.
In the Xuantian Martial Realm, powerful factions controlled advanced methods and resources, leaving many talented commoners without a viable route forward 191. Xia Xuanjin proposed Martial Academies to widen access to training and cultivation methods, with Shen Fan's support. The Great Xia Dynasty subsequently gathered methods and resources to establish the academy system 191 194.
Shen Fan later resolved to revive and spread the Martial Path more broadly. He imparted an inheritance to King Ziyuan, while the Phoenix Ancestor and Emperor Qing Ming shared portions of their own legacies with the New Kaiyuan Royal Court's races 467 590 625.
