The night stretched vast and dim, the west wind bleak and desolate.
A tombstone without a single word stood before a lonely grave, silent and eerie.
Though the reins had been pulled as tight as they could go, the mounts of the three bosses kept moving toward the tombstone. Blood-flecked foam streamed from their mouths, yet they seemed utterly unaware.
A powerful chill rose in the three bosses' hearts.
Seeing that the three bosses were still moving forward, the other bandits didn't know whether to follow or turn back as ordered. The ranks fell into a brief commotion.
At that moment, seeing that the horses wouldn't obey, the First Boss immediately let go of the reins and leaped down from the saddle.
The Second Boss and the Third Boss finally reacted as well, scrambling down from their horses.
The moment the three men landed, the Second Boss spoke in a flustered voice. "Big brother, there's something strange about this place!"
The First Boss said irritably, "I know!"
The Third Boss's face had turned faintly green. He said in a low voice, "We need to leave. Now!"
The First Boss gave a slight nod, abandoned the horses, and turned to shout at the bandits. "Turn back!"
At his command, the group fell into a brief panic, then turned around and started back.
Scattered torches snaked through the night. The west wind swept across the land, swaying the trees and flattening the tall grass. A chilling air spread through the vast night, which lay silent as death.
As they walked, the three bosses began to think they had left that uncanny graveyard behind. Then, in the darkness ahead, they saw a lone, blank tombstone appear once more!
