Ch. 222Death Scythe

Red Robe tried to unseal the Death Scythe to claim the God of Death’s power and find his deceased wife’s soul, while the God of Death recalled how her godhood had been divided and warned that releasing it could destroy the world. Parr and John arrived to stop him, but the battle’s energy and fragments from Lucy Ni’s warhammer helped the seal open further.

  • Red Robe assembled the metal fragments in the Temple Hall and began revealing the Death Scythe, while the God of Death remembered that a woman had divided her godhood and sealed it away a thousand years earlier.
  • The God of Death warned Red Robe that unsealing her godhood could destroy the world, but he continued, determined to become the God of Death and find his wife’s soul.
  • John attacked Red Robe, who bound him with gray-black chains, then Parr arrived and struck at Red Robe’s shield with the Cyan White Long Saber.
  • Parr’s saber transformed into a White-Gold Giant Dragon that clashed with Red Robe’s manifestation of the God of Curse, while Red Robe kept opening the Death Scythe’s seal.
  • The Holy Sword Fragment flew into the seal, and Lucy Ni’s shattered warhammer released three more metal fragments that joined the unsealing as Parr charged toward Red Robe.

Ch. 223Parr Is Dead?

Parr tried to stop Red Robe from unsealing the Death Scythe, but John killed Red Robe before the seal opened. A mysterious explosion engulfed the Death Temple, and after Lucy Ni reported that spatial cracks had swallowed Parr, Hu Ya and Tail remained at the ruins entrance, refusing to believe he was dead.

  • Parr forced his way through the energy shockwaves toward Red Robe, exhausting his Battle Qi and injuring himself, while Lucy Ni failed to reach him.
  • Parr restored his strength and attacked Red Robe, but a shield formed from John’s chains blocked his strike.
  • John broke free, killed Red Robe, and began collapsing as the black markings on his body formed a gemstone.
  • Red Robe’s face appeared on the gray-black figure, which exploded and sent an inexplicable wave of energy through the temple.
  • The next day, Tail recognized Parr’s scent on the unconscious Lucy Ni, and Hu Ya and Tail waited until Lucy Ni woke.
  • Lucy Ni told Hu Ya that spatial cracks had engulfed Parr during the temple’s collapse, but Hu Ya carried Tail back to the passage entrance and continued waiting for him.

Ch. 224Talent Inheritance

Lucy Ni received a mysterious inheritance warning that the God of Death had broken his seal, while Tail recovered memories of her mother and led Hu Ya back to Gold Crystal Fortress. There they learned Parr was alive and Tail destroyed a hidden possession spell; the story then returned to Parr, who awoke weakened by a divine curse after John sacrificed himself and passed him a generational Talent.

  • Lucy Ni saw a platinum pearl and entered a white space, where a woman told her the God of Death had broken his seal and that she would inherit her will.
  • Tail remembered her mother leaving her in a palace engulfed in flames, then urged Hu Ya to return to Gold Crystal Fortress and check whether Parr was alive.
  • After a week on the journey, Tail had become the team's second-in-command, and Mary showed Hu Ya and Tail Parr's letter saying he was going to the Elf Race for a cure for the Half-Orcs' bloodline conflict.
  • Tail used the Golden Bracelet to burn a phantom out of Mary's body, revealing that a Seven-Star Magician had tried to use Mary to revive herself.
  • Parr awoke in a forest clearing with a Weakness Curse that had left him near death, recalling how John had given him a generational Talent before vanishing in the blast of the God of Curse's godhead.

Ch. 225Deep in Despair

Parr survived the collapsing Divine Kingdom Space by escaping through a spatial crack, while the God of Death and the Cyan Armored Man remained behind. Injured and unable to recover, Parr found himself surrounded by Black Armored Men and ended the chapter trapped at their camp beside a river.

  • The woman in white separated the Radiance Sword core from the God of Death’s Divine Kingdom Space, using the spatial collapse to reinforce the Death Scythe’s seal as the God of Death forced the Black Mark back inside.
  • Parr followed a vision from Danger Prediction and rolled into a spatial crack, while the woman in white teleported everyone else out and the Cyan Armored Man agreed to help the God of Death save her space.
  • The God of Death plunged into the crack Parr had used after the Cyan Armored Man suggested a method, while he flew into the Cyan White Long Saber and the collapse stopped near the temple.
  • Parr emerged alive without the Key, but his Status Panel offered no way to recover and Danger Prediction showed Black Armored Men surrounding him to capture him.
  • Parr dodged their arrows and fled toward a glowing tributary of the Fluorescent River, only to realize he had run straight into the Black Armored Men’s camp.

Ch. 226Chapter 226

Parr accepted a contract with the God of Death, Felice Dawn, who suppressed his curse so he could use his abilities again. He fought the Black Armored Men seeking the divine spark, but their leader trapped him and fired a Spirit Tool Cannon as the suppression neared its end.

  • Black Armored Men surrounded Parr and demanded the God of Death's divine spark, while the God of Death offered to save him in exchange for a contract.
  • Parr accepted the contract, then learned the God of Death intended to merge her Divine Kingdom Space with his Palm Space; he brought her inside and received sixty seconds of curse suppression.
  • Parr restored himself to Peak Silver, charged the Black Armored Men, and shattered their battle formation with his Demon-Breaking Flame Battle Qi.
  • The Black Armored Men burned their lives to trap Parr in the Black Bird Battle Formation while their leader escaped to a ship and aimed its Spirit Tool Cannon at him.
  • Parr used a hundred Fireball Spells to break free, but the cannon fired a white beam into the smoke surrounding him.

Ch. 227Caught Someone

Parr escaped the collapsing riverbank by striking the short Black Armored Man, but was swept into an underground river and drifted for half a day. A Miao fished him out near Rain Harbor Town and carried him to the Villain Tavern, where she decided to keep him as family.

  • Parr's broken Teleportation Necklace forced him to charge toward the short Black Armored Man, and he wounded him with Blade Separation before the river swept him into a pit.
  • The short Black Armored Man collapsed unconscious, and his crew carried him aboard the ship and sailed southeast.
  • Parr drifted through the underground river for half a day, conserving his strength until the current carried him downstream.
  • A Miao caught Parr while fishing near Rain Harbor Town and carried him back to the Villain Tavern.
  • The Villain Boss examined Parr and told the tavern patrons to look for his family, but A Miao took Parr away, insisting that what she fished up belonged to her.

Ch. 228Palm God Kingdom

After Parr died, he discovered that the God of Death’s Divine Kingdom had merged with his Palm Space to form the Palm God Kingdom, and he returned to his body with his curse suppressed. When he entered the kingdom again to help the God of Death, a Demon Soul resembling Uncle John chased them, and the chapter ended as the nature of the God of Death’s harmful Black Mark was explained.

  • Parr awoke as a soul in the God of Death’s Divine Kingdom, learned that he had died, and used Energy Points to restore himself and return to his body.
  • Parr woke in a shelter beside A Miao, who had apparently saved him, then inspected his newly maxed Palm God Kingdom Talent.
  • Parr saw the God of Death being chased by a black figure resembling Uncle John and entered the Palm God Kingdom to help her.
  • The God of Death clung to Parr as they fled the Demon Soul, explaining that she lacked divine power and energy.
  • The narration explained that the God of Death absorbed harmful desires connected to death and that their accumulation had formed her Black Mark.

Ch. 229Demon Soul True Spirit

Parr used the Black Short Sword to free John’s soul from its Demon Mark, allowing it to pass on, and learned that a leak in the God of Death’s sealed godhead was creating Demon Souls. After deciding to handle them himself, he demanded a cure for his curse and punished the God of Death when she refused to help.

  • Parr recovered the Black Short Sword and used it to fend off a Demon Soul while asking the God of Death whether Demon Souls could be restored.
  • The God of Death said Demon Marks could not be removed, but Parr severed the mark from John’s soul, which then passed away.
  • Parr killed another Demon Soul and learned that Demon Marks were leaking through a crack in the seal around the God of Death’s contaminated godhead.
  • Parr refused to let others handle the Demon Souls and declared that he would kill them himself for their Mental Energy Points.
  • When the God of Death said Parr’s curse could not be cured, Parr pinned her down and struck her with the Black Short Sword as she cried and invoked their contract.

Ch. 230Give Up on Treatment!

Parr escaped the God of Death by taking control of her Divine Kingdom Space, then woke in Rain Harbor Town and learned about A Miao’s life delivering food. Still cursed, he returned to the Palm God Kingdom to ask the God of Death how to remove it, but she refused to cooperate.

  • The God of Death regained her adult form but discovered Parr had taken control of her Divine Kingdom Space, while her strength remained greatly diminished.
  • Parr woke in a shelter in Rain Harbor Town and met A Miao, who shared her meager meal with him and called him family.
  • After hearing the town bells, A Miao left to deliver food from the Villain Tavern, and Parr learned the work helped feed poor and homeless children.
  • Parr decided the God of Death was his only hope of lifting the curse and entered the Palm God Kingdom in his soul state.
  • Parr retrieved the Book of Death and offered to return it if the God of Death explained how to remove his curse, but she refused.

Ch. 231Method of Breaking the Curse

Parr learned that raising Talent Prompt Wake-Up to level five could help break the God of Death’s curse, and forced her to reveal a potion recipe and promise further help. He still lacked the Mental Energy Points and ingredients needed to upgrade the Talent, so he turned to the Demon Souls produced by Palm God Kingdom.

  • Parr tied up the God of Death and used freshly grilled meat to coax her into explaining how to remove his curse.
  • The God of Death said Parr had to raise Talent Prompt Wake-Up to the peak of mortals, level five, and offered to help him break the curse afterward.
  • Parr pressured the God of Death into giving him a Magic Potion Recipe for raising the Talent to level five.
  • Parr and the God of Death signed a written contract to coexist peacefully and refrain from harming each other.
  • Parr realized he lacked enough Mental Energy Points and could not identify ingredients in the recipe, so he killed a Demon Soul for its Energy Points and noticed the Book of Death might contain more souls.

Ch. 232A Miao

Parr freed souls from the Book of Death to gain Mental Energy, discovered a Demonization Talent and a mysterious bell, then met A Miao and learned how she came to live alone. A Miao began explaining her past as she and Parr headed out to fish.

  • Parr tore pages from the Book of Death and destroyed six Demon Souls, gaining six hundred Mental Energy Points before the supply of Demon Marks ran out.
  • Felice explained that the rift could corrupt about ten mortal souls each day, and Parr calculated he needed three more days to reach ten thousand Mental Energy Points.
  • Parr discovered that John's black gemstone granted the Demonization Talent and found a cracked sword hilt with a silver bell, which Felice dismissed as junk.
  • Parr returned to his body, checked the Talent's dangerous effects, and focused on removing his curse.
  • A Miao returned with bread and invited Parr to fish; as they left town, she told him she had run away after her adoptive father remarried and his new wife rejected her.

Ch. 233An Overconfident Roadside Robbery

Parr and A Miao caught fish together, and Parr protected her from children who tried to rob them. Back at A Miao's Little Nest, Parr gave her new clothes, while news of the Dawn Family's crisis reached the Earth Bear Knight and A Miao fell asleep again.

  • A Miao caught a large red scale fish, and she and Parr brought four fish back toward A Miao's Little Nest.
  • Bucktooth and the other children tried to take two fish, but Parr quickly knocked them all down and left with A Miao.
  • Bucktooth decided not to report the failed robbery to the Villain Boss and spent his saved Silver Coins on food at the Villain Tavern.
  • A traveler told the Earth Bear Knight that the Marquis had died, the Eldest Young Master was badly injured, and the Second Young Master had begun making his move.
  • Parr gave A Miao the clothes he had altered, and she embraced him before falling asleep in his arms.
  • Parr could not wake A Miao and wondered whether a bloodline conflict had caused her sleep.

Ch. 234Undercurrents Surge

Parr heard Bucktooth’s story and learned that he wanted to become an adventurer to avenge his parents, who were killed by the Dog Head Gang. As rumors of the Dawn Marquis’s death and Black Sun Dawn’s injury unsettled the territory, Villain Boss agreed to protect a young master in Dawn City and learned that the Dog Head Gang planned a major move.

  • Parr shared his grilled fish and Bucktooth’s food with him, then asked why Bucktooth had come.
  • Bucktooth asked to become Parr’s subordinate and adventuring companion so he could avenge his parents, who had been killed by the Dog Head Gang.
  • Parr questioned Bucktooth about the gang’s strength and learned details about Rain Harbor Town and the Dawn family before telling Bucktooth to return in three days.
  • Rumors spread that the Dawn Marquis had died and Black Sun Dawn had been seriously injured, stirring up the factions in Dawn City.
  • A messenger asked Villain Boss to protect the young master in Dawn City before the Revival Festival, and Villain Boss agreed.
  • An underling told Villain Boss that the Dog Head Gang planned a major move the next day.

Ch. 235Dog Head Gang Seizes People

Parr learned that the Dog Head Gang had abducted A Miao and other children for a man from Dawn City. After confirming A Miao was among the captives, he demanded that Bucktooth explain what had happened.

  • Parr made breakfast for A Miao, then entered the Palm God Kingdom and defeated a Demon Soul threatening Felice.
  • The Earth Bear Knight left Rain Harbor Town with his subordinates as the Dog Head Gang leader ordered his men to seize children in the Villain Tavern's territory.
  • Two Dog Head Gang members abducted A Miao in an alley, crushed her bell, and carried her away while Bucktooth watched.
  • The Dog Head Gang brought the captured children to a man from Dawn City, who selected some to send away and had the rest locked up.
  • Bucktooth told Parr that A Miao had been taken and showed him her flattened bell; Parr seized it and demanded details.

Ch. 236Crushing the Dog Head Gang

Parr infiltrated the Dog Head Gang’s hideout to find A Miao and rescue the kidnapped children, then defeated the gang and the man from Dawn City. He called Bucktooth into the hideout, leaving him to face the chance for revenge.

  • Parr restored his strength, followed Bucktooth, and let a Dog Head Gang member lead him into the hideout.
  • Parr killed the gang member and the carriage driver, then found A Miao among the tied-up children and helped free them.
  • Parr killed another gang member, explained how he harvested energy from enemies, and defeated and bound the Dog Head Gang boss and his trusted underlings.
  • Parr anticipated an ambush from the man from Dawn City and killed him with the Black Short Sword.
  • Parr found no other gang members at the hideout, called Bucktooth inside, and Bucktooth entered after gathering himself.

Ch. 237Dawn City

Parr reached Dawn City with A Miao and Bucktooth after the Dog Head Gang was destroyed, then learned from a dead man’s soul about Black Sun Dawn’s plans for the captured children. In Dawn Castle, Black Night Dawn received a coded message and celebrated with the Knights supporting him as rival forces gathered for a coming operation.

  • Villain Boss led the Villain Tavern against the Dog Head Gang, but found its leaders dead and learned that a boy with A Miao and Bucktooth had freed the children; he then left Rain Harbor Town.
  • Parr arrived outside Dawn City with the sleeping A Miao and Bucktooth, camped for the night, and entered the Palm God Kingdom to question a dead man’s soul.
  • Parr learned that the man had served Black Sun Dawn, had been sent to summon Earth Bear Knight, and had ordered the Dog Head Gang to capture children for an unknown purpose.
  • Black Night Dawn hosted Knights who supported him while the Dawn Family’s forces split between his camp and Black Sun Dawn’s.
  • Black Night Dawn received a coded message announcing that dawn was approaching, then raised a toast to the Knights and celebrated their expected success.

Ch. 238A Miao's Night Sleep Disorder

Parr reunited A Miao with her adoptive father and learned that her worsening Night Sleep Disorder could be fatal, so he resolved to take her to the Elf Race for a cure. After discovering she had been falling asleep earlier for nearly five months, Parr feared she might have only about a month left.

  • Bucktooth woke to find Parr and A Miao gone, then discovered Parr had left him training records, gold coins, Spirit Water, and a farewell letter.
  • Parr and A Miao wandered through Dawn City, where A Miao’s adoptive father found her and urged her to return home.
  • Parr told A Miao’s adoptive father that he would take her to the Elf Race for treatment, and her father left her with a money pouch before departing.
  • Parr learned from a Church physician that worsening Night Sleep Disorder could leave a Half-Orc with only six months to a year to live.
  • A Miao told Parr that she had started falling asleep earlier around the previous Harvest Festival, and Parr calculated that she might have only about a month remaining.

Ch. 239Elf Race

Parr sought a fast route to the Elf Race so he could find a cure for A Miao’s Night Sleep Disorder, and learned that the experienced Leopard Fang Adventurer Team would take months to get there. Their employer, Yuzu, revealed that she was an Elf Magic Potion Maker and offered to examine A Miao.

  • Parr paid adventurers at the Dawn City Adventurers' Association for information about reaching the Elf Race.
  • Parr reunited with Keith and the Leopard Fang Adventurer Team, who were escorting two employers toward the Elf Race.
  • Keith told Parr the journey would take two or three months, too long for A Miao, and Ken said only high-ranking Elf Magic Potion Makers could cure Night Sleep Disorder.
  • Yuzu approached Parr after hearing about A Miao's condition and offered to examine her in a quiet room.
  • Yuzu revealed that she was a pure-blooded Elf Magic Potion Maker and introduced herself to Parr and A Miao.

Ch. 240Bell

Parr learned that A Miao had at least three months to live and joined Yuzu's escort to the Elf Race, while Felice explained how she could help him break his curse once his Talent reached its peak. After giving A Miao a Silver Bell, Parr asked Felice about the Great Calamity, and she blamed a woman.

  • Yuzu examined A Miao and estimated that she had at least three months left.
  • Parr agreed to travel with the Leopard Fang Adventurer Team and Yuzu, who planned to leave at noon the next day.
  • Parr learned that Felice could temporarily raise his Talent to its maximum level to help him break the curse, provided his Talent first reached the peak of mortals.
  • Parr found a Silver Bell in the Palm God Kingdom and gave it to A Miao, who happily wore it around her neck.
  • Parr asked Felice what had happened in the Palm God Kingdom and what caused the Great Calamity, and Felice blamed a woman.

Ch. 241History

Felice recounted the rise of the Magic Empire and how the Radiant Holy Dragon Holy Knight broke into her Divine Kingdom Space and sealed her, but she knew nothing about the Great Calamity. In Fluorescent City, the Leopard Fang Adventurer Team received a veiled warning from a Dawn Castle butler, and Parr suspected trouble would erupt before the Revival Festival.

  • Felice told Parr that the Magic Empire had flourished for five thousand years before she entered her second sleep and missed the Great Calamity.
  • Felice recalled that the Radiant Holy Dragon Holy Knight had broken into her Divine Kingdom Space with thousands of people, nearly wiped out her believers, and sealed her.
  • Parr and A Miao joined Keith and the Leopard Fang Adventurer Team for dinner, where Keith explained their route through Fluorescent City and Netherwood City toward the Elf Race's territory.
  • A butler from Dawn Castle offered Keith a secret mission, but Keith refused, and the butler warned that the team might not be able to leave the city.
  • Keith ordered the adventurers to stay inside and double the night watch while Parr marked their route and watched the bustling city ahead of the Revival Festival.
