If they hadn't known about the existence of hybrids, some countries would already have rushed over with their hands raised in surrender. Instead, the whole world was now caught in an eerie stillness.
Chen Motong had begun to doubt whether she had truly been reborn from the future. But those memories had felt so real. How could they possibly be false?
"Maybe I didn't go back to the past. Maybe I came to a parallel universe that's similar, but not quite the same. The Lu Mingfei in this world isn't a pathetic loser, but a great demon king bent on destroying the world. But there's another possibility!"
Chen Motong looked at all the information about Lu Mingfei on her phone. Everything had been fine until just recently. Then, one morning, Lu Mingfei—who should have been going to school—appeared in the skies above Tokyo, while his aunt and her family lay in pools of blood.
According to the neighbors, Lu Mingfei's aunt and her family had been making a lot of noise that day. But that was perfectly normal, since they did so every day.
"Maybe my rebirth changed the timeline, and something is controlling the Lu Mingfei of this world!"
Chen Motong said as she dragged the progress bar and carefully watched Lu Mingfei in the video, trying to profile him with her ability. But this time, she found that her ability had failed. Even without profiling him, though, she could see that the loser now was nothing like the one she remembered—not in his bearing, nor in his words or actions. Only his appearance was the same.
He had changed too much!
"That's it! It has to be!"
Chen Motong nodded, convinced she'd guessed the truth. Something was controlling Lu Mingfei. The loser must be suffering terribly right now.
