Elsewhere, a burly boy stood by the sea, weeping uncontrollably.
According to legend, after Izanagi gave birth to the Three Noble Children, he ordered Amaterasu Omikami to rule Takamagahara, Tsukuyomi to rule the Land of Night, and Susanoo to rule the sea.
The other two went off and governed as they were supposed to. Only Susanoo did nothing but weep all day, with no interest in ruling.
