But once he grew powerful, it should have formed some inexplicable connection with the entire Hindu mythological universe.

As long as one's scale and information strength were great enough, turning the tables was perfectly normal. How could the weak possibly constrain the strong?
And if there was any such constraint, it was only because some even more powerful force stood behind the weak. Unless that backing force was willing, how could the weak possibly restrain the strong?
