Background

Uchiha Brahmin developed Subspace while pursuing travel beyond parallel dimensions. At its creation, it was partly real and partly illusory: the illusory portion could expand with the Empire and gradually move toward reality through soul projections and emotional power 115 135 136.

Its artificial nature initially made it difficult for outsiders to locate. Galactus and the Wandering Planet Will found no trace of it while searching another world, where only its aura existed in the illusory realm 196. Brahmin later linked subspaces belonging to different multiverses, extending the Empire’s reach without relying on a conventional Gate of Time and Space 197.

Abilities & Functions

Power and life

• Imperial warriors can receive blessings from Subspace, and Galactus draws a continuous supply of power from it 136 218.
• It can generate life without planetary seeding. Life created this way is devoted to Brahmin from birth 216.
• Its influence can animate formerly lifeless objects: Odin’s Destroyer Armor becomes a living being after exposure to it 274.

Travel and communication

• As a reflection of real space, it helps Imperial ships calculate faster hyperspace routes 136.
• It carries energy between star systems and supports passages to other worlds 157 218.
• Gerard uses Subspace to broadcast his coordinates and request aid from nearby Imperial forces 335 336.

Expansion and assimilation

• Newly established Subspace can absorb other forms of energy and expand rapidly 218.
• Its aura spreads into the Warhammer universe’s original Subspace; the Four Gods subsequently find their control over its energies weakening 234 337.
• Direct contact can overwhelm or transform minds. The Joker is assimilated after connecting to its vast knowledge 294.

• Uchiha Brahmin — creator and modifier of Subspace; he binds his existence to it and uses it to extend his influence between universes 196 197.
• The Empire — uses it for travel, energy transfer, blessings, and expansion 136 157 218.
