Society and Civilization

• The clan is based in the Tianyuan Starfield, a galaxy stated to be ten billion light-years from the Milky Way. Its ancestral capital is a super-planet stabilized by the roots of the Primordial Divine Tree. 166
• Its society is divided into a main family and branch families. Historically, branch-family members were used as living sacrifices to activate Divine Trees and produce Chakra Fruits. 166
• The development of Karma reduced this sacrifice burden for the main family first; branch-family members only gradually gained access to it later. Kaguya lacked Karma in her era and ambushed Isshiki to avoid being sacrificed. 166
• The clan considers itself an ancient, invincible civilization. Its territory contains no other known civilizations, largely because its expansion repeatedly destroyed life-bearing worlds before other societies could develop. 160 166

Chakra Fruits and the Divine Tree

• The Ōtsutsuki use Divine Trees to consume planetary ecosystems and produce Chakra Fruits, which are used to strengthen members of the clan. 89 160

History

The Ōtsutsuki Clan rose to cosmic dominance through the Primordial Divine Tree and Chakra Fruits. By sacrificing members to activate Divine Trees and consuming the life of colonized planets, the clan destroyed numerous developing civilizations and prevented most rival societies within its region of space from reaching the interstellar age. 160 166

In the era of Kaguya and Isshiki, Kaguya—then a branch-family member without Karma—ambushed Isshiki rather than submit to sacrifice. This event eventually enabled Chakra to spread through the Ninja World and created the conditions for the rise of Uchiha Brahmin. 166 170

Brahmin first acquired direct Ōtsutsuki genetic data after capturing Toneri on the moon. He studied Toneri’s bloodline, created an Ōtsutsuki-specific Sacred Blessing Potion, and converted him into an imperial dependent. 88 89 Brahmin later subdued Isshiki and restored his physical condition through the Seed of Blessing, leading Isshiki to join the Empire. 99 101 Kaguya was subsequently resurrected, defeated, and converted as well. 107 109

When the Empire’s expansion reached the Tianyuan Starfield, Great Elder Mionaka foresaw the clan’s destruction by a pair of scarlet eyes. He recalled clan members from across the universe in an attempt to alter the prophecy and concentrate the clan’s strength. 166 167

The Empire’s fleet invaded the Ōtsutsuki ancestral planet with Kaguya and Isshiki among its forces. Mionaka attained the status of the Ōtsutsuki God and initially destroyed an Imperial fleet with ease, but he could not overcome Uchiha Brahmin. 169 170 171 Brahmin then enveloped the planet in a golden chakra beam that altered the consciousness of the Ōtsutsuki God and the resisting clan members, ending their resistance and making them devoted followers of the Empire. 172

• Ōtsutsuki Mionaka — Great Elder with precognitive abilities; foresaw the clan’s downfall and later became the Ōtsutsuki God during the Empire’s invasion. 166 169
• Ōtsutsuki Kaguya — Former branch-family member who betrayed Isshiki to escape sacrifice; later became a devout follower of Brahmin and participated in the campaign against her clan. 166 165

Relationship with the Holy Father Redeemer Empire
