"If there's an inheritance, why don't you go yourself? Why insist on sharing it with me?"
Shi Kang had a feeling there was something strange about this woman, but he couldn't say what it was.
What Shi Kang didn't know was that Qing Yanjing admired his talent.
It was the feeling of one genius encountering another.
Qing Yanjing pressed her lips together and looked at him. "Because it's in the Land of Forbidden Laws. My Spirit Arrays and divine abilities don't work there."
She paused, her voice softening. "But you're different. Your body is exceptionally strong, and what circulates inside you isn't Spiritual Energy at all. The suppression there should barely affect you."
"The Land of Forbidden Laws?" Shi Kang's eyes lit up.
A place with a name like that had to hold something good!
"So? Will you come with me?" Qing Yanjing asked, looking up at him.
Qing Yanjing was out of options. She had tried several times and failed to break through. All she could do was ask Shi Kang for help.
"Then I suppose I can go take a look."
With that, Qing Yanjing led the way.
Suddenly, as though something had occurred to her, she stopped short and turned around.
"You have to promise me half of whatever we find!" Qing Yanjing said at once.
Shi Kang readily agreed.
After all, the loot would be in his hands. Whether he gave her any would be up to him.
Qing Yanjing led Shi Kang to a barren, fractured plain.
Spiritual Energy was thin in the air, and cracks ran everywhere. At a glance, the place looked entirely ordinary.
Shi Kang looked around. "Where's this place you mentioned? I don't see anything."
Qing Yanjing said nothing. She merely extended a slender, fair finger and tapped the air.
