Standing before Beichen, Kunpeng cupped his hands in salute. "Greetings, Dao Ancestor Beichen!"
"Immortal Island Palace is your home, too. There's no need for formalities, Great Elder!" Beichen raised a hand. "Have a seat!"
"First, tell me about the laws you've comprehended and cultivated!"
Beichen didn't exchange pleasantries with Old Ancestor Kunpeng.
Kunpeng had come seeking the path to sainthood, so they might as well discuss the Dao directly.
Kunpeng then spoke at length about his insights into the Water Dao.
"Water is the source of all things. It benefits everything without contention. It is all-pervading, formless and unchanging, and present everywhere. Its Dao foundation is profound. If I could find a way to gather the laws of the Water Dao throughout the primordial world and unite them all, I should be able to become a Saint, shouldn't I?"
Listening to Kunpeng, Beichen smiled without answering and shook his head again and again.
Although Kunpeng had cultivated the Water Dao to the early Quasi-Saint stage, his understanding was still far too immature compared with Beichen's.
Given Kunpeng's current understanding and insight into the Water Dao, he would never become a Saint in this lifetime.
Besides, of the three thousand Great Daos, each could have only one Great Dao Saint. Beichen was already the Saint of the Great Dao of Water, and the Saint Position was taken. No matter how powerful those who came later became, they could never reach sainthood in this Dao; at most, they could become Quasi-Saints.
Each of the three thousand Great Daos held great destiny. When a Saint emerged, they claimed nearly all of it, leaving no possibility of sainthood for those who cultivated that Dao afterward.
