Background / History

Mei Weixuan first arrives at the Rebel Army camp alongside Yin Daoyan and Gu Yourong. He openly mocks Guo Yanhai's claim to possess the Mandate of Heaven, then fights him with his sword techniques despite Guo's nominal Fourth-Rank strength. Mei recognizes that Guo's Qi and Blood is scattered and improperly cultivated; as a Rank 5 martial artist, he judges Guo weak enough to challenge. 59 60

While accompanying Yin Daoyan, Mei meets Zhong Lin in Black Mountain County. He helps arrange Zhong's journey with the Hundred Herbs Hall party, permits Little Shi to travel with them, and gives the child a valuable jade pendant. During the journey, Mei identifies Zhong's Qi and Blood cultivation, recognizes his potential, and becomes one of the first people to encourage him to display his talent openly. 65 66 67 68

At Heavenly Eagle Stronghold, Mei joins Zhong Lin in investigating the Shen family's internal conflict and searching for treasure. He presses Zhong into ambushing two injured Upper Three Ranks assassins, then sustains severe injuries while engaging one of them. Later, he and Zhong kill Wind Blade Song Wei and obtain resources connected to the Five Poison Beast, which helps both of them advance through Viscera Refinement. 71 75 76 105 106 117

After reaching Viscera Refinement Completion, Mei is allowed to join the Sword Cauldron Sect under Yin Daoyan's sponsorship. Sect Leader Yu Jinglei formally accepts him, and Mei selects the secret technique Tiger Leopard Thunder Sound from the Skill Transmission Pavilion. 119 124 127

Years later, Mei serves as a Sword Cauldron Sect elder on the Profound Tortoise Continent. During Zhong Lin's absence, he helps manage the sect as it grows into the continent's dominant cultivation force. 530 531

Appearance

Mei Weixuan is a refined-looking young master from an aristocratic family, though his deliberately elegant presentation is often ruined by his behavior or the conditions of travel. 59 103

  • Often wears a white robe and a white jade pendant. 103
  • Has black hair and a fair complexion. 103 108
  • Carries a long sword, including a silver-white blade marked with subtle patterns. 59
  • Later grows a small mustache, which Zhong Lin finds comical. 530

Personality

Mei is outspoken, vain, impulsive, and fond of provoking people. He insults Guo Yanhai without hesitation, speaks crudely even in front of Yin Daoyan, and frequently gets punished or rebuked for his lack of restraint. 59 60 184

He enjoys fine food, wine, sightseeing, and brothels, often trying to drag Zhong Lin to XiaoXiang Pavilion. His playful indulgence also makes him jealous of Zhong's wealth, maidservants, and rapid growth. 65 79 87 88 112

Beneath this frivolity, Mei is perceptive and loyal. He quickly identifies Zhong Lin's cultivation level and origins, gives practical advice on martial arts, returns to Sky Sun City for help when Zhong is pursued by Wu Jinguang, and remains genuinely invested in Zhong's safety and progress. 67 68 76 113 119
