Wang Yiren watched Wang Yi and Nicole gazing affectionately at each other as they bowed to one another during the wedding ceremony.
She poured herself a beer.
"Brother Yi, I hope you two will be happy together," she said.
Then she downed the entire glass.
Afterward, she simply collapsed onto the bed.
Her mind drifted back to last summer, to the night before she and Wang Yi parted after filming This Is Slam Dunk 7, when they sat together on a bench by the lake.
What a wonderful night it had been.
It would be the most wonderful memory of her life.
But she had promised Wang Yi that from then on she would face life with a smile. She would never let herself become a bitter woman.
So in the end, she let out a breath and smiled sweetly. "When I wake up, I'll be a lively, energetic young woman again."
Meanwhile, in Sacramento,
Anjiali sat on the sofa, stroking the tiger's fur with her right hand while holding a glass of red wine in her left.
The TV in the living room was also showing a replay of Wang Yi's wedding.
After finishing her glass, she shook her head.
"That damn Wang. Now that he's married, I don't stand a chance at all. How could there be a man like him in the world? I've pursued him for two years, and he hasn't felt the slightest thing for me?"
She poured herself another glass of red wine and gulped it down.
The tiger beside her looked at Anjiali in confusion.
She gently patted its head. "You don't understand why I couldn't win him over either, do you?"
The tiger didn't respond.
Anjiali sighed again. "It's the 601st day since Wang Yi rejected me. Sigh. I'm done with this."
