Wang Yi shot him a glare. "I'm going to China by myself."
Mitchell immediately put on a shocked expression. "Boss, what happened to 'together forever, never apart'?"
"Boss, the whole meaning of my life is following you. I'm your shadow. You've retired, so what would I even stay here for?"
Wang Yi shrugged. "If you come with me to China, what about your girlfriend?"
"I broke up with her."
Mitchell answered without hesitation.
"To cut off any lingering attachments here in the United States, I've already broken up with my girlfriend."
Wang Yi and James exchanged glances, both at a loss for words.
Mitchell then spoke in perfectly standard Chinese:
"Look, Boss, I'm speaking Chinese now, eating Chinese food, and using made-in-China products. What about me still looks American? I'm a bona fide Chinese person. If you won't let me go back to China, where else am I supposed to go? I'm getting on in years, and fallen leaves return to their roots. I have to die in China, even if it kills me."
At that, Wang Yi went straight for him.
He kicked the guy in the butt.
"'Fallen leaves return to their roots,' my ass. Your roots are in America."
Mitchell grinned shamelessly. "I've moved them."
Then he pulled out a passport and opened it. "Boss, look, I've already got my visa. I'm planning to make major contributions to China and then become a Chinese citizen. Even if you won't think of yourself, you have to think of the Chinese people."
Wang Yi was utterly speechless at the man's shamelessness.
James saw this and said with a laugh,
"Brother, why not take him with you? Sure, the guy's slippery, but he really is loyal to you, and he's good at getting things done. He'd be a great choice
