Wang Yi had already dunked on Wemby before. It wasn't the first time.
But this time was different.
Before, he had almost always charged in alone and forced his way past Wemby for the dunk. This time, though, Little Danny had set him up.
From Little Danny dribbling the ball, to passing it to Wang Yi at midcourt, to Wang Yi passing it back to Little Danny cutting to the basket, and Little Danny returning it to him—their back-and-forth had the crowd's heads spinning.
On the next possession, Wang Yi brought the ball up.
Little Danny set up beyond the three-point line on the left wing.
Wang Yi suddenly drove in from the right.
After a crossover, he spun sharply to the right, leaving LaMelo Ball behind and reaching the paint.
The Hornets' defensive strategy against Wang Yi was to guard him one-on-one on the perimeter and double-team him inside.
As soon as Wang Yi drove into the lane, Wemby and their Power Forward rushed over to defend.
That left the basket unguarded.
Wang Yi leaped high into the air, and Wemby came straight at him to block the shot.
But Wang Yi wasn't actually shooting.
He only faked a shot, then pulled the ball back, intending to slip it beneath Wemby's ribs to Bond behind him.
But just then, LaMelo Ball had already circled around and cut off Bond.
Seeing this, Wang Yi somehow pulled the ball back again with his incredible core strength.
Of course, he had pulled it back at the very limit. He had to release the ball as quickly as possible, or he would be called for a double dribble.
Just then, out of the corner of his eye, Wang Yi caught a dark blur cutting in diagonally from the left wing like a bolt
