The woman was around fifty years old.
She had a model's figure, blond hair, and blue eyes—the quintessential Western beauty.
Though she was fifty, time seemed to have left no mark on her at all. She still looked to be in her thirties.
She was none other than Doncic's mother, Potterbin.
Wang Yi had met her a few times before.
"Hello, Wang."
Potterbin greeted Wang Yi.
Wang Yi returned her greeting politely.
At the same time, he introduced his family to Potterbin.
Potterbin greeted each member of Wang Yi's family. At the end, she glanced at Wang Yi's mother and Nicole, then said to Wang Yi, "Wang, I'd like to speak with you alone."
Wang Yi looked at his mother, then at Nicole.
Nicole nodded to him, and Wang Yi immediately said to them,
"Head to the parking lot first. Mitchell has the car ready. I'll be down in a bit."
After Nicole, his mother, and the children had left, Potterbin said to Wang Yi,
"Wang, be careful on the court tonight. The other All-Stars have secretly joined forces. They might try to embarrass you."
Wang Yi paused for a moment, then shook his head and laughed.
"What are you laughing at?"
Wang Yi replied, "I'm laughing at them. They can't beat me fair and square, so they resort to these petty tricks. It's ridiculous."
Potterbin continued, "So how are you going to deal with them? Do you need us to help?"
Wang Yi shook his head. "No. If they want to gang up on me and embarrass me, that only brings out my competitive spirit. I want to see who ends up embarrassing themselves—them or me."
It would have been one thing if Potterbin hadn't told Wang Yi. Now that she had, she'd only stirred up his competitive spirit.
