Over on Japan Team's side, they saw Wang Yi gather his teammates together and seemed to realize what he was about to do. Head coach Tanaka Mitsunobu also pulled his players together and told them:
"That guy's going for the Overlord Dunk again. I know it's incredibly hard to defend, but I'm telling you, you have to stop him. If you can stop this shot, you can beat China Team!"
"If you can even stop Wang Yi's Overlord Dunk, then there's nothing you can't do."
"So I want all five of you to defend against his Overlord Dunk together. If we stop this shot, we win!"
"Yes, sir!"
The five Japanese players shouted in unison!
The game resumed.
Although a Japanese player had injured Zhou Qi by stepping on his foot earlier, the referee hadn't called a foul on Japan Team and had let the game continue.
Japan Team's Small Forward, Nakagawa Shuichiro, found an opening beyond the three-point line and sank a three.
After making the shot, the guy clenched his fist and let out a pig-like squeal, apparently trying to boost his own spirits as well as fire up Japan Team.
On the next possession, Nakagawa Shuichiro had just moved a couple of steps past the three-point line when he caught a pass from Yada Koji. He rose and sank another three, then let out another hysterical roar.
The other four players on Japan Team seemed fired up by him, too. They all roared in unison, and the seven Japanese players remaining on the sidelines also let out pig-like, hysterical screams.
