There were many teams in NBA history that had stacked their rosters with stars, but only a handful had actually won a championship.
The reason those star-studded teams had managed to fight their way through the Playoffs was that, although their bench players weren't very good, they never gave up too many points while they were on the court. Their starters could fill in the hole.
But the Raptors' situation was completely different.
Their bench was terrible, and they didn't even put in the effort. The holes they dug were enormous.
They had lost by more than 40 points the previous game.
This game was only at halftime, and their bench had already given up more than a dozen points.
A team like that had almost no chance of making it far in the Playoffs.
Yet when the coach raised this concern, Wang Yi just smiled calmly. "They can dig all the holes they want. If I can't fill them, I'll lose."
