The Raptors saw Augustin head to the bench, and Wang Yi took the initiative to tell the coach, "Coach, sub me out."
The coach took Wang Yi out of the game.
Normally, at least one or two of the Raptors' starters should have stayed on the court to lead the rest of the bench players. But the starters had played all 48 minutes in each of the previous games, putting too much strain on their bodies, so Coach Dako wanted them to get a few more minutes of rest.
On top of that, the lead was sizable, so Coach Dako sent in backup shooting guard Gates to replace Wang Yi.
That left the Raptors with an all-bench lineup on the court.
Grizzlies head coach Jenkins was secretly delighted. With Wang Yi on the bench and nothing but reserves on the floor for the Raptors, he figured they could take the opportunity to make up some ground.
But he hadn't expected the Raptors' bench players to come out and play so fiercely.
Perhaps because they hadn't played in so long, their game sense was rusty. They turned the ball over a bit too often, and their offensive efficiency was poor.
But all five reserves on the court were giving it everything they had.
It was no exaggeration to say they were playing like they'd gone mad.
On defense, they gave it their all. The five of them nearly managed to switch onto anyone at any time.
No matter how the opposing team set screens or passed the ball, it was hard for them to get an open shot. Before they could shoot, a Raptors player was always there to contest it.
And when it came to rebounding, the five Raptors were like a pack of wolves. In a flash, they all
