This should have been an easy question. All he had to do was say yes. But Augustin had taken such a heavy blow that his mind was a complete mess.
He blurted out, "Next question."
Even the head coach standing beside him looked helpless.

The reporters weren't exactly pushovers, though. Did he think they'd let him off just because he wouldn't answer?
How naive.

The bench players, however, didn't say a word. They packed up their gear in silence.
Once they were done, everyone quickly left the locker room, as if they felt uncomfortable being around the starters.
It wasn't until they'd left the locker room and reached the parking lot that the bench players seemed to breathe a sigh of relief.
