he slipped past Wemby, then swung around behind him for a looping, Waist King-style layup;

and when Wemby forced him into a corner with nowhere to go and he was about to step out of bounds, he leaped out of bounds and tossed the ball up in midair for a bucket.

You couldn't say Wemby wasn't giving it his all on defense.

He defended every shot to the limit. Any other player would have had no chance of making those shots.

But Wang Yi played like he had a cheat code, making every shot in front of Wemby with some impossible move.

Wemby was practically in tears.

The Hornets were losing their minds.

Hornets head coach Clifford was dumbfounded.

Every Hornets fan was stunned.

At first, the commentators shouted and marveled every time Wang Yi made one of those impossible shots. But gradually, even they grew numb to it.

After Wang Yi made a 360-degree turn and hit a fadeaway jumper from behind the backboard, the commentators simply said, without a hint of excitement:

"Wang Yi gets another two."

NBA commentator Reggie Miller watched and said calmly, "Is Wang Yi planning to take over this year's top 50 plays in a single game?"

His fellow commentator Van Gundy gave a wry smile. "With Wang Yi around, forget the top 50. Nobody else should even dream of making this year's top 100."
