Pang Bo had only a 47% success rate against Wemby.
That was clearly nowhere near good enough.
Pang Bo dribbled and pressed inward a few times, then used a shoulder feint, pivoted on his right foot, and spun in from the baseline.
Then he sank a left-handed hook layup.
Over the next two possessions, Wemby and Pang Bo traded baskets.
The crowd was thoroughly enjoying the show.
Wemby dunked, and Pang Bo dunked;
Wemby hit a turnaround jumper, and Pang Bo sank a mid-range shot.
Although Pang Bo was already blessed with outstanding physical gifts, he still fell a little short of a freak of nature like Wemby. He could trade baskets with Wemby for a few possessions, but over a longer stretch, Pang Bo would inevitably fall behind.
On the third possession, Wemby faced Pang Bo and threw down a vicious poster dunk right over him. Pang Bo tried to answer on the next possession, but couldn't.
Not only did he fail to answer, Wemby swatted his shot into the stands with a vicious block. In that matchup, Wemby had completely overpowered Pang Bo.
On the next possession, Wemby once again established position in the paint.
Out of habit, he glanced at Wang Yi and saw him still beyond the three-point line. Wemby faced Pang Bo, gave a left-shoulder feint, then spun right into a turnaround jumper.
Pang Bo hurried over to contest, but Wemby's jumper was only a fake.
After turning around, he gave a slight backward feint. His left foot was now his pivot foot, and he lifted his right foot slightly, making it look as if he were about to shoot a turnaround fadeaway.
Pang Bo went flying past him. Wemby then planted his right foot, lifted his left pivot foot, and took another step forward.
