Wang Yi first faked to the right, then dribbled low to the left.
Just as his pivot foot was about to come down, the ball left his hand.
That let him accelerate as quickly as possible without traveling.
As the saying went, amateurs watched for the spectacle, while insiders saw the skill.
Just from that first step, it was clear how well Wang Yi controlled the ball while moving.
His fake and drive were so quick that even Jordan couldn't react in time. In an instant, Wang Yi had edged half a step past him.
Seeing that he couldn't keep up, Jordan didn't use his body to impede Wang Yi. Instead, he shuffled sideways and turned around. By the time he'd completed the turn, he was behind Wang Yi.
He followed Wang Yi to the basket, waiting for him to take off so he could block the shot.
But once Wang Yi reached the basket, he didn't go for a simple, ordinary dunk.
He jumped straight up and, while airborne, switched the ball between his legs.
He moved it from his right hand to his left.
Jordan thought Wang Yi would dunk from the right, so he reached over to block that side. But Wang Yi went the other way and dunked with his left.
Ka-boom!
The dunk hit with tremendous force!
The rim sagged under the pressure, like a man's little brother after the deed.
The moment Wang Yi let go, the rim sprang back up, bouncing repeatedly with a deep metallic hum.
At the same time, not far below Mount Everest, a snow-covered peak seemed to shudder from the force of Wang Yi's dunk. A rumbling followed, and then a massive avalanche broke loose.
A vast mass of snow surged down the mountain like millions of white horses.
