Wei Wei'er's brows furrowed slightly.
Then he called his father. "Dad, I just got a court summons. Wang Yi's lawyer is suing me."
His father sounded a little tired. "I already told you. Wang Yi is someone you can't afford to offend."
"Dad, I told you yesterday to help me take care of this. Did you forget?"
His father's voice sounded not only tired, but somewhat old, too.
"Wei'er, if you hadn't posted that video yesterday, they probably would've needed a few more days to gather information. That would've given me room to maneuver. But you posted it and angered them, while also giving them more information and evidence. That's why they sped up the process of suing you. There's nothing I can do."
Even now, Wei Wei'er didn't think it was a big deal. She said:
"That's all right. The trial's still a month away. A month is plenty of time for you to sort this out, isn't it?"
His father's voice came through the phone. "Wei'er, I just got a call. I'm afraid I won't be able to keep helping you get out of these messes. You need to learn to obey the law and stop getting into trouble."
Wei Wei'er paused, a little stunned. For the first time, she heard a note of helplessness in her father's voice.
She was quiet for a few seconds, then asked, "Dad, are you okay?"
"I'm fine. I'm just worried about you. I've already consulted a lawyer. When you exposed Wang Yi and Wang Yiren, you used the headline 'Wang Yi Cheated on His Wife, Evidence Conclusive.' That could mislead a lot of people. I'm afraid this will be difficult."
Wei Wei'er stubbornly replied, "Emotional cheating is still cheating. I wasn't wrong to say he cheated on his wife."
Her father
