Raptors Head Coach Dako continued:

"Don't just stand around, everyone else. If Pang Bo's screen doesn't work, you can come set one for Wang Yi instead. Locke in particular—you're very strong, and you take up a lot of space when you screen. You can do a great job of blocking his defender out on the perimeter."

"And the rest of you, too. Wang Yi only needs a split-second to get his shot off. All you have to do is set a screen and slow down the man chasing him for a moment, and he'll shoot."

Everyone nodded.

When the timeout ended, both teams returned to the court.

The Celtics opened with Morant on offense.

After all, Embiid had already attacked for several possessions in a row. Though he was good at drawing fouls and had plenty of ways to score, they couldn't rely on him for every possession.

Even someone as strong as LeBron James couldn't be expected to take every shot for an entire game, not even at the peak of his career.

Besides, the Celtics had the Big Four now. Were the other three supposed to just watch while one man took every shot?

That wasn't realistic.

Mad Tiger Tagore was guarding Morant.

Tagore was a much better defender than Zhang Jiacheng, but when Morant kept changing pace and then used his quick footwork to drive past him, Tagore still couldn't keep up.

His speed simply couldn't match Morant's, limited as he was by his physical gifts.

It was like Mad Dog Beverley at his peak. People admired his tenacious defense and his ability to fire up his teammates, and he was considered one of the best perimeter defenders in the league at the time.

But against elite perimeter scorers, he often couldn't stop them with conventional defense.
