After Wang Yi finished taking calls from all the owners, he finally made up his mind to fly back to Toronto in two days to play a home game.
So many NBA owners had called him personally. None of them had asked him outright to come back as soon as possible. They'd talked as if they were just making casual conversation, asking when he'd be back.
But they were all smart people. The fact that they'd called meant they wanted him to return as soon as possible.
Wang Yi was usually defiant, but the owners hadn't wronged him over his suspension. Now that they'd all called to ask him to come back, they'd shown him enough respect, so he decided to take the opportunity to go back.
Besides, these owners were all powerful figures in their respective industries.
Given Wang Yi's business plans, he would inevitably have to deal with influential people from all walks of life in the future.
Wang Yi wasn't afraid of offending them, but there was no sense in making enemies everywhere.
Since they'd given him plenty of respect, he was naturally willing to do them this favor.
For now, though, Wang Yi hadn't told anyone that he planned to return for his next game.
He intended to surprise the fans in the arena—and his teammates.
But before returning, Wang Yi had one more thing to do.
Let's go back to the afternoon of the finals.
It was past five in the afternoon, and dusk had already fallen.
Wang Yi had someone call Huang Rixin to his office.
Huang Rixin was still a little unsure what was going on. "Brother Yi."
Wang Yi nodded. "Huang Rixin, let me ask you this: thinking about it rationally, you shouldn't have taken that three-pointer today. Why did you shoot?"
