Combined with his ten assists, that meant he was just one steal away from a quintuple-double.
But the most important thing to Wang Yi right now was winning. The stats came second.
If he recorded a quintuple-double but his team still lost, that would be a disgrace to him.
The two teams traded attacks and stops. But with Wang Yi stepping up his offense, the Pistons focused their defense on him, giving the Raptors an opening.
Zhang Jiacheng hit a three, Pang Bo slammed one home, and Dauding knocked down a mid-range shot.
But the Pistons weren't slacking off on offense, either.
Duke Jin kept hitting mid-range shots.
Masat, who had never been much of a shooter, casually tossed up a three with the shot clock winding down—and, miraculously, it went in.
With just 25 seconds left in the game, the Pistons still led by two.
And they had possession.
Most devastating of all, the Raptors had no timeouts left.
That meant that even if the Pistons failed to score on this possession, the Raptors would have only one second left.
And they would have to start their attack from the backcourt.
That left the Raptors fans in the arena feeling more than a little desperate.
At the start of the fourth quarter, none of them
