She'd been so nervous and excited that Shirley had gotten carried away.

As she said goodbye to Wang Yi, he interrupted her.

"But I can answer that question."

Shirley froze, then instantly grew excited.

"When will you be able to tell us?"

Wang Yi smiled. "When the time comes, I'll tell you."

"Uh..."

Shirley's excitement instantly turned to speechlessness.

She looked at Wang Yi helplessly.

How was that any different from not answering?

But as one of Wang Yi's longtime, die-hard fans, she wasn't going to hold it against him.

If anything, she'd find his answer witty and funny.

"Okay, thank you, Wang. And thank you for agreeing to the interview."

Watching the expressions on the girl's face change from one moment to the next, Wang Yi couldn't help finding it amusing.

Most female reporters were very good at keeping their expressions in check. You couldn't see even the slightest hint of what they were feeling.

This girl was different. She seemed completely inexperienced.

So innocent, and so unusual.

Shirley didn't leave right away. She waited until the cameraman had turned off the camera, then handed him the microphone and let him pack up. After that, she turned back to Wang Yi and asked:

"Wang, I'm a longtime fan of yours—a die-hard fan. Could I treat you to dinner later?"

Wang Yi looked at the beautiful woman, then turned toward Anjiali and Miyakawa Maya on the other side of the court.

He hesitated for a moment before nodding. "Of course. I'd be a fool to turn down a free meal."

If they'd been in Toronto, Wang Yi would have had his family with him after the game.

But here in New York, Nicole wasn't around.

After tonight's game, Anjiali and Miyakawa Maya each had other things to take care of.
