Morant saw Seth Curry analyzing things as if he knew exactly what he was talking about, but he wasn't convinced. Instead, he teased him:
"Then tell me, what makes an elite three-point shooter?"
Seth Curry watched Zhang Yu on the court.
"To elite shooters, there's no such thing as being open or covered. It's all about feel. When they get that feeling, when they think they can take the shot, they'll shoot whether they're wide open or the defender is right in their face. They'll shoot no matter who's guarding them. What do you call that? Shooting without discrimination."
"Even if they miss their first two wide-open shots, they won't hesitate to keep shooting."
"Even if they're facing a Spider-Man like Wemby, with his height and long arms, they'll still shoot without a second thought."
Morant found Seth Curry's explanation so mysterious that he couldn't help laughing again.
"Are you telling me a story or what?"
Seth Curry knew Ja Morant didn't believe him, but he continued regardless.
"Elite shooters are obsessed with their threes. A lot of the time, that obsession can help the team crush their opponents in an instant, or pull the team back from a tough spot just as quickly."
"Of course, that obsession with threes can sometimes hurt the team, too. When they're not shooting well, if they keep chucking threes, they can put the team in a really difficult position."
"But most of the time, they have a positive impact on the team."
Ja Morant rested both hands on the railing and pointed at Zhang Yu on the court. "So you're saying this kid could be an elite shooter? Is it April Fools' Day?"
"Of course, he isn't one yet. But at the very least, he has the potential to become one."
