After a brief consideration, referee Crawford immediately made the goaltending signal, calling War Dragon for goaltending and awarding Wang Yi two points.

There was no question about Crawford's call.

Imagine you're taking a shot, and your opponent is a guy who can jump high enough to reach the backboard. Every time you shoot, he slaps the backboard and makes it wobble. What else could that be but goaltending?

On the sidelines, Michael Jordan watched and exclaimed, "Wang's play there was incredibly clever."

Barkley nodded. "Yeah. I could never come up with a way to score like that, even if you paid me."

Shaquille O'Neal nodded too. "Wang knew the robot could jump high, so he used the backboard to block it before taking the shot. That was really clever."

But O'Neal raised another concern. "You can score that way, but this robot can learn. On the next possession, it'll adjust how high it jumps and eventually manage to block Wang. So this game is still going to be tough."

The other two nodded. Their expressions remained grave.

When play resumed, the robot attacked again.

It stood there for a full five seconds without making a move.

But as soon as the five seconds were up, it suddenly dribbled to the right and quickly drove down the right side.

It looked like it was copying Wang Yi's moves.

The robot was even faster than Wang. Although it had already squeezed past him with that dribble, it didn't drive straight to the basket to shoot. Instead, it stopped the ball, turned its back to Wang, then spun around.

Clearly, it wanted to beat Wang with Wang's own move.
