During the timeout, Chris Paul asked Wang Yi with a grave expression, "They've started pushing the pace, and we simply can't keep up with them."
Rondo shook his head as well. "Yeah. We said before this series began that if they started playing fast, we'd have a hard time dealing with it."
JJ Redick nodded too, his expression equally serious.
After wiping away his sweat and taking a sip of water, Wang Yi said, "It's actually very simple if the Pistons want to beat the Los Angeles Lakers in this series: they just need to keep playing fast from start to finish."
"If I were Billups, I would have had the Pistons stick to a fast pace from beginning to end. They would've won long ago."
"Billups just wasn't decisive enough. In a few games, our shooting rattled him, so he didn't stick with the fast break."
"If he had kept committing to the fast break, we wouldn't have been able to play at all."
Chris Paul nodded and asked Wang Yi, "Then what do we do now? Do you have any ideas?"
Wang Yi thought for a moment before answering, "If they want to play fast, then we'll slow it down as much as possible. We'll try to use up 20 seconds on every possession."
"We'll reduce the number of possessions as much as possible and maintain our lead that way."
"Hopefully, if we cut down the number of possessions, this ten-plus-point lead can carry us into the final minute."
Chris Paul and Rondo both nodded. This was the Los Angeles Lakers' only option at the moment.
But JJ Redick had a question. "Wang, can your stamina hold out until the last minute?"
Wang Yi gave a bitter smile. "Whether it can or not, we'll find out when we
